Tell us something about yourself.

Enjoy Life. It’s not a dress rehearsal.

I like to enjoy each and every moment of my life to the fullest and spread as much happiness as I can, around myself.

Hello Everyone. This is Jyoti Rathod, born in Ahmedabad and brought up in Vadodara, residing in Hyderabad for the past two years. I have recently joined Accenture. Prior to Accenture, I worked with Infosys Technologies Limited for 2.5 years.

What are your hobbies?

I love sketching, painting, making greeting cards for each and every occasionJ, craft work, reading, cooking (trying out new recipes) and dancing.

Mention about your professional life.

I started my professional career with Infosys on October 29th, 2007. I had one of the best times of my life during Infy training at Mysore, followed by my posting in Hyderabad. Each day at Infosys was a great learning experience. I got an opportunity to work and interact with the brightest people and it really helped in my professional growth. I have recently joined Accenture. Looking forward to have a great time and face new challenges.

When did you join Aashayein Foundation and why did you join it?

I along with my colleagues had donated some funds to DMA (Dalit Mahila Aashram) which was handled by Castro (one of the most dedicated and sincere member of Aashayein). From him, I came to know about Aashayein. I joined Aashayein last year in August. I started with SA and BMKS initially, but actually was able to make my contribution successfully at the summer camp held at PS Bhuvana.

Reason for me joining Aashayein was to do something different from the routine work which eventually turned out to be a realization of social responsibilities.

Which has been the most memorable day in Aashayein for you?

Last day at summer camp where in we took PS Bhuvana kids, BMKS Kids and Sahaya kids to Birla Planetarium and Museum. Because of telengana Bandh, we did face issues in arranging logistics for the trip, but enjoyed every bit of it. Kids were so happy to go in bus. Best part was that they were identifying zebra crossing and traffic signal. It was worth the efforts we had put in making them aware about traffic rules and regulations. Kids were so full of affection at the end of the day that they were hugging all the volunteers.

What are your expectations from Aashayein?

I expect Aashayein to start its initiatives in other social fields also apart from children education.

Tell us 2 things that you like in Aashayein and 2 areas that need more attention and how can we work on them?

Two Things:

1)      The Pace with which Aashayein at Hyderabad has grown in span of two years is incredible. Hats Off to all the dedicated volunteers who made this possible. It feels great to work with all of them.

2)      Working in Aashayein is a great learning experience in itself. You can participate in internal communication, marketing, logistic planning, teaching...etc.

1)      At times there are loopholes in planning and execution of the events and things are done at the last moment. Planning can be better. I hope that restructuring of roles and responsibilities in Aashayein will solve these issues.

2)       All volunteers meet should be held more frequently.

What are the other responsibilities who would like to you take part in Aashayein?

I would like to take the responsibility of entire project and also would like to be a member of the core- Aashayein team. I would also like to work with other strategic teams on the rotation basis.

Where would you like to see Aashayein 5 years from now?

I would like to see Aashayein globally recognised.

Any message for Aashayein and its members.

Sky is the limit. Aashayein volunteers – way to go  J
